Food was pretty good. Pretzel bites were good but the cheese beer sauce was a bit bitter. The steak fries are always good. The nacho burger was ok. The strawberry Lemonade was great. The service was awesome. Paul is a great server.

The quality of food was great. Broght my wife and thee kids there for dinner. The service was lacking. We arrived at 8 pm on Friday evening and it took 20 minutes to seat us even though the table they sat us at had been open the entire time. The waiter failed to deliver our drink order correctly and then argued with me about it. Our food was delivered with no silverware... salads are difficult to eat without a fork... and it took 10 minutes to get silverware. Total time at Red Robin was almost 2 hours and only 15 minutes of that was eating. Just a bad experience at this location. The staff needs some training and the management needs to pay attention.

Most restaurant goers are familiar to with Red Robin. Overall this particular restaurant is not much different than all the others, but there are a few things that set it apart. I've read reviews for this location that talk about bad or slow service. I actually drive out of my way to go to this particular location because the service is always better here and the restaurant is a lot cleaner than most. Red Robin is notorious for tables full of screaming kids, but this location being in a more mature neighborhood and closer to the University, the screamer factor is much less. You will still have to wait for a table most nights, but the wait time here is better than the Fashion Plce location and at least a half hour better than South Jordan. I suggest sitting in the bar area which is always first come first serve. The food is consistent with any other Red Robin or similar chain. Recently I've noticed a shift in meat quality. Their burgers used to come out piping hot and juicy. Now they arrive warm and the patties are obviously precooked. Notice they don't ask how you want your meat cooked any more. Sadly this has become they way of the world. All things considered, this chain is still better than most. Sure your bottomless steak fries will arrive in an obnoxious metal fry holding accessory that is designed to increase style and decrease quantity. However, the superfluous accoutrement is easily set aside and the bottomless factor still exists. Unlike most chains in their quest for constant change, Red Robin has kept their best menu items and the prices are more reasonable. They also deserve credit for trying new things and then going back to what works. For instance, a couple years ago they changed my favorite appetizer, the fried zucchini, by cutting them into little pieces and bringing them in a strange serving apparatus with sauce cup holders. The serving device was so tall that I couldn't see my date across the table. After a few months entertaining the change, they got rid of the ridiculousness and put my favorite zucchini back to normal. Red Robin also gets credit for having nice large glassware that is actually glass as opposed to most of their competitors that have switched to smaller plastic glasses (even for draught beer - CHILI'S!). To sum it up, this is a Red Robin that is better than most Red Robins.

Bad customer service, waited a long time to be seated and then taken to a dirty table. Hostess didn't even speak with us for 7-8 minutes while we stood next to her. Very strange. The manager finally fixed things and the food was good for a chain. I was very happy with their gluten free options but they were out of gluten free / dietary menus.

Good burgers, endless steak fries, and excellent fry sauce. Occasionally people like to bring their loud, screaming children here. I can always count on good service.

As far as the food goes, I always order the Whiskey River BBQ Burger and I have them add bacon. The big-ass hamburger patty, bbq sauce, onion straws and bacon are absolutely fantastic and that was no different at this particular location. I also would like to point out that they have added Bottomless Sweet Potato Fries to the menu and they are outstanding.....probably the best I have tasted at a restaurant. Our waiter, however, had a slight attitude. He never smiled, our drinks were not refilled (until we asked, and even then he seemed annoyed and confused about what drink glass belonged to whom), and when we made special requests he made a face that said "ok, whatever". I can't explain it.....it was kind of an eye-roll with a confounded look. Idk. Anyway, we were in Salt Lake for my brother's college graduation and we had a great time in spite our server. Luckily, we had good people with us. I am not really a fan of frequenting "corporate, chain restaurants" but this one I don't mind as much as others.

Three star burgers and fries at 5-star burger prices. Survey says: 2 stars. Approximately every 2 or 3 months, I decide to go to Red Robin, since it's close to my house, I'm not in the mood to drive and I want a burger. Invariably, I leave Red Robin feeling ripped off. It's not really expensive, but it's just not really good. For the same price, I could go to any number of places and get a better meal. I have shot down the family requests to go to Red Robin the last couple of times... so maybe I've finally learned my lesson.

As a kid I used to love coming this place every week and maybe that's why I'm not as crazy about it as an adult. Yes the menu is varied and the price is fair but the food can sometimes be very bland and well....boring. As a result, a lot of my experiences here have hinged on the friendliness of the staff and the chef of the evening. Get a friendly host and funny server and you're in for a five star evening, but get a grumpy host or a shy server and you're going for 3-4 stars at best.

Burgers & Steak Fries? Yes please! Red Robin has a vast array of choices when it comes to burgers, and chicken sandwiches. You can also order appetizers, salads, soups, pastas, fish, and rice. They have a great drink menu (complete with a full bar) or go ahead and order a shake...or a fruit smoothie! I enjoy the healthier options they offer on the kids menu. They also provide crayons, with a menu to color. If you like sports, they have televisions around the restaurant. Oh, and I personally think their steak fries are the best, they are thick and crispy...and BOTTOMLESS - that's right you can have as much as you want! They have great dipping sauce for the fries. Today I had a big huge headache...and in an attempt to cure my hangover I ordered the Fish & Chips (I think it's cod), and a virgin pina colada. Didn't cure my headache...but I got my greasy fix.

Does the world need one more Red Robin review? I'd normally say 'no'. Red Robin is like the poster child for chain burger-cum-'American Bistro' restaurants. You know them: TGIF/Appleby's/Ruby Tuesday/whatever. They're all kinda the same. Now, before you get your shorts in a knot, I'm not saying one's better or worse than the other--they're just all the same in that they have more or less the same type of menu, and they're all chains. The thing that sets this joint apart in my mind is one thing. Okay, two, but they're inextricably linked together: fries and fry sauce. First, the fries. If small cut, 5 Guys or In-n-Out style fries are your thang, you'll hate these. These are the "steak fry" variety--big, almost each a baked potato unto itself. And, they're bottomless. They keep 'em coming until you say "no mas." Additionally, each table has a big jar of fry seasoning right there. Kinda like seasoning salt, but actually different. You can season those puppies to taste. And the coup de gras, of course, is the fry sauce. But the secret is, you have to actually ask for it. They never bring it with the fries by default. Crazy. You see, fry sauce runs in my blood. I'm a Utahn, after all. My ancestors brought their fry sauce over on the plains with them, in crocks right next to their sourdough starts. It's part of who I am. Red Robin has found a way to make it better. I'm sure they start with the typical ketchup-mayo base, but then they get cra-a-a-zy. I think it's got some of their fry seasoning in it. Maybe some barbecue. Most likely some cocaine or some other highly addictive substance, because I'm hooked on it. I get jonesing for Red Robin fry sauce about every other week, and so, off I go, making my ancestors proud. Or ashamed, I'm not sure which.

What a disappointment! Loud, inattentive staff, so-so food. Pricey for what you get.

Due to the influx of commercials on TV, my mom and i took my niece here after the zoo. Big mistake! The service was slow and we had to ask for everything and got the attitude of putting her out as if its not her job. To fry sauce, coke refills, etc, etc. The hamburgers were dry and my mom felt like it wasnt all meat, a lot of fillers. The original menu, prices range from $8.50 for a burger and up so really not worth it! Save your money or go next door to wendy's.

For a decent burger, good fries and a milkshake or smoothie Red Robin has got it all. While this location is lacking in good customer service, the food itself is still good.

  • Mark T.

First of all, the service at this particular Red Robin is lacking to put it mildly. We were seated then waited for quite a while before we saw the waitress. It wasn't due to a lack of staff or anything either, a lot of them were just chilling. With that out of the way, let's talk about the food. I have had burgers here as well as salads and wraps. The burgers are good. As are the wraps, I especially like the Whiskey River Chicken Wrap, just realize that it is not all that healthy (it is around 1000 calories). The salads are nothing special, but then what do you expect from a burger place. My favorite thing at Red Robin has to be the chocolate malts though. They give you a glass and then a tin, so it's basically two glasses. They are delicious. Price wise, you can expect to spend around $12 - $15 for your meal. So to some this up, the food is generally good but not great, the prices are a little higher than I would want to pay and the service most definitely needs work.

Lunch here is the best! It's never too busy, the fries never start coming, the Dr. Pepper is phenomenal, and the service is great! I'm a fan of the Robin and this one is particularly good! However, keep in mind that I have never been there for dinner. But 5 stars for lunch!

Red Robin scares me. Everything, from the decor, to the service, to the food seems prefabricated, premeditated, and precalculated. The entire enterprise is designed to stimulate the senses and promote over-consumption. In this way, I suppose Red Robin is a truly "American" restaurant. That, and the menu, which is loaded with all the artery clogging classics; wings, mac and cheese, nachos, the "Onion Tower", shakes, and all their signature hamburgers. And let's not forget the "bottomless" fries, which sounds like a good thing, but not when they are those soft, large, steak fries that I detest. Now I love all these foods, when done properly. And I am certainly no health nut. But, what frightens me about Red Robin is that their food is purposefully designed to have the exact right amount of fat, salt, and sugar, and certainly several man-made chemicals, to stimulate our reptilian brain to overeat. It's what I call "laboratory food". So I avoid this place and others of it's ilk (Chili's, Applebees are the most egregious examples). Not because the food doesn't taste good, but because it doesn't taste real.

Delicious burgers with all kinds of toppings. Great rewards program. Free birthday burger among other great offers. The Banzai burger with the teriyaki and grilled pineapple it Devine with a Root beer float hits a home run.

Food is consistent here but service is inconsistent. Today it took a long time to get seated for lunch. It's 1130am the restaurant is mostly empty but there's a line of people waiting to be seated. I only have an hour for lunch so I'll need to eat fast. I live nearby so I hate to see signs that this place isn't functioning well.

in all honesty, their steak fries taste better when you are baked. Or so I heard. Anyways, if its because of the munchies, or you wanna enjoy a good burger and great fries, Red Robin is the way to go. I love the Royal Burger. It's da best. This location was clean, spacious, and the service was great.

Went there at 1pm today...mediocre fries, terrible onion rings, they even messed up our burgers. I will never return ...burgers tasted steamed. For $9.00 Plus a person I feel ripped off. Server could have cared less.

I have to be in a very specific mood to come to Red Robin. And it's the I am starving and I need red meat and lots of fries. I have tried most of the burgers here and love them all. But I always seem to go back to the royal red robin burger. I have always called it the good morning burger. Why? Because they put a fried egg on top of the meat along with bacon, just all around yummy. I have had bad fries from some other locations but these guys seem to be spot on every time. I will be back for sure.

While I generally stay away from chain restaurants, I really like the Red Robin on Foothill. I've been here at least 5 times and each time I've gotten good service, food arrived quickly and the price is right (as they give a 15% discount to each student with a University of Utah ID). I enjoy the lively (though sometimes chaotic) atmosphere and each of the servers I've encountered brought extra fries and did their jobs with a smile. This specific branch does a better job than other chain restaurants I've encountered in this city so I'm a fan.

  • David G.

I've been here more than a few times, mostly because it's close to work/home. I can't bring myself to go back. Servers are nice and prompt but the food is as expected for a chain restaurant the specializes in jumbo-sized, mega-calorie dishes. Why can't one order just a plain, simple burger here? Do yourself a favor and go someplace else.

Waited 10 minutes for three people to be seated in an EMPTY restaurant. Ordered immediately, have been waiting for 40 more minutes for one burger and two kids meals. Still no sign of food. Ready to bolt if no food soon. Unacceptable. Update: Boosted to three starts because shift management came out and comped us most of the meal. Still, everyone would have been happier if the food was on time (we'd have been in and out far sooner, they'd have been paid in full). Lesson for mgmt: don't leave your staff twisting in the wind with annoyed customers by trying to be fully open with only two or three people in the building. Cutting costs this way is bad for business.

It is what you would expect from red robin. We sat ourselves at the bar and it took about 10 minutes to be addressed. After the initial contact with our waiter it was a smooth and good experience. Nothing over the top but our fry basket never got empty! There were more employees than patrons and they seemed very over staffed. Good experience not the best.

We visited back in March 2015 and had an awful experience. I wrote an honest review. I was contacted by management and extended some gift certificates. At first, I wasn't satisfied because I could only use the gift certificates in Utah, and we live in Idaho. It turns out, we were back in town and decided to give this place another try; everyone deserves a second chance as we all have bad days. This visit was wonderful. The service was excellent. The food was good and, most important, correct the first time. Thank you for a nice lunch.

I really like this place! I like their customer service asset this specific location. My favorite burger is the whisky river burger well done. Mmmhmmm it's so good, and made to order. My birthday was Monday so the server was so kind and gave me a free birthday cake, I think that's thoughtful and nice. So check them out

Red Robin's are pretty much the same where ever you go. Same good burgers, an onion ring tower that I just love and the same service. The same SLOW service. Was here Friday night before it got super crowded. Our friends go there about 10 minutes before us and snagged a spot in the bar. We got there, sat down and I swear it was another good 10 minutes before the waiter even acknowledged us. Seriously! This has happened at almost every Red Robin I've eaten at here in Utah and also in California. Must be in their training manual...... Food was good and everyone at my table liked their meal. Just crappy slow service.

I have lost count of how many times I've eaten at this burger place since it is close to work and can accommodate a large reservation. But the food is below average, the service isn't great and the decorations are so contrived it's annoying. If you need a place that can fit in 12+ people easily with an advance reservation, this will work. But don't expect a pleasurable burger experience.
